Before Your Wax
How should I prepare for my waxing appointment?
Exfoliate gently 24 hours before, avoid moisturizers on the day of, and make sure hair is at least ¼ inch long.
Can I wax if I’m on my period?
Yes, but your skin may be more sensitive. It’s required to wear a tampon or menstrual cup. If you do not usually wear tampons no need to buy them. They will be provided in the studio.
Can I wax if I’m pregnant?
Yes, but pregnancy can make skin more sensitive. Always consult with your healthcare provider first.

Does waxing hurt?
Some discomfort is normal, especially for first-timers, but it gets easier with regular waxing.
How long does a waxing session take?
It depends on the area—brows take about 10 minutes, while a full leg or Brazilian may take 30–60 minutes.
Will I be exposed during a Brazilian wax?
Yes, but your aesthetician is trained to make you as comfortable and covered as possible.
Is waxing awkward or embarrassing?
Not at all! Waxing professionals are trained to make you feel comfortable and respected, no matter what area is being treated.
Aftercare
What should I avoid after waxing?
Avoid hot baths, sun exposure, tight clothing, and exercise for at least 24 hours to reduce irritation.
How do I prevent ingrown hairs?
Exfoliate regularly and moisturize the area. Avoid shaving between waxes.
Is it normal to have redness or bumps after waxing?
Yes, mild irritation or redness is common and usually fades within a few hours.

Is waxing sanitary?
Reputable salons follow strict hygiene protocols. Make sure your esthetician uses a clean applicator and never double-dips.
Can waxing cause skin damage?
If done correctly, no. However, sensitive skin or improper technique can lead to irritation or bruising.
Who should avoid waxing?
People using Accutane, Retin-A, or with certain skin conditions (like sunburn, eczema) need to consult a doctor first.
Will my hair grow back thicker or darker?
No. Waxing actually weakens the hair follicle over time, often resulting in
finer and lighter hair regrowth.
Is there a minimum age for waxing?
Minors under 18 must have
parental consent. Some services, like bikini or Brazilian waxing, may have age restrictions.
